DU couples, do you have a song?
Mine and the Prophetess' is "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin. We're even going to have our wedding seaside-themed.

2. When we were first together, he told me this song made him think of me.
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 09:16 PM by SarahBelle
It wouldn't right now, but it meant something then. It was popular when we were first together in 1990.

Angel Eyes

Girl, you're looking fine tonight,
and every guy has got you in his sights
What you're doing with a clown like me,
is surely one of life's little mysteries

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

Well, I'm the guy who never learned to dance,
never even got one second glance
Across a crowded room was close enough,
I could look but I could never touch

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

Don't anyone wake me,
if it's just a dream
'Cause she's the best thing,
that's ever happened to me

All you fellows, you can look all you like,
but this girl, you see, she's leavin' here with me tonight

There's just one more thing that I have to know,
if this is love why does it scare me so?
It must be something only you can see,
'cause girl I feel it when you look at me

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

4. our wedding song was Heaven 90210 by Urge Overkill
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 08:23 AM by BigMcLargehuge
does that count?

Heaven 90210

You see them coming, the queen of hearts and the king of fools,
Me and Innocence, just playing cards by the swimming pool.
They pull me out of an empty place, left me all alone I wanna touch you.
Think I'm movin' on back to Kansas
And I thought that savin' you would save me.

When she comes to me and takes my hand
When pain is all I know
She gives me heaven with thrills, 90210.

Lookin' at you as the sun was risin',
Nothin' to do just-a-watch at the man upon the moon
Look into his eyes and the sad blue glow, and it ain't surprisin', no,
To see a blind man lookin' twice before he crosses the road, yeah
Califor-ni-a, don't fall into the sea on me
The sun still shines in L.A. when you're gone.

When she comes to me and takes my hand
When pain is all I know
And gives me heaven with thrills, 90210
Just gives me heaven with thrills, 90210
She gives me heaven with thrills.

7. wow that's really cool!
I don't know anyone (and I know a lot of indie folks) who had Nick Cave music at their wedding. Robyn Hitchcock, but not Nick Cave. (Lots of Coltrane, REM, TMBG, etc, though) Very impressive. We did have a proto- punky guys in black- boots type- wedding, though.

My husb and I love Robyn Hitchcock's "There's a house burning down on the radio" song. Not sure if that's the title. I always think of that as our song.

9. No...And I'll tell you why...
Skip says that if we ever were to break up, most songs are bad enough to hear, let alone hearing that one song and getting depressed that it's over. Silly reason, but he has a point. I figure whatever song we pick as our first dance as husband and wife will become our song.

12. I Know What You Mean
When I got married the first time in 1974, we had some of our friends sing The Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun" right after we exchanged vows. The first song we danced to at our reception was The Beatles' "Something".

For years after our divorce in 1979, I used to change the station if either of those songs came on the radio.....

14. No, because she likes dance music and I like hard rock.
She's tried to find one, but if it's a dance tune I'm not open to it.
