1. I guess I could just post |
|
the same thing over and over, but isn't that intellectually dishonest?
Anyway, I can't do it.
I am in the middle of packing boxes preperatory to moving back to Texas as soon as my daughter gets back from the Democratic Convention in ... uh ... where is it again - OH Yeah!: in Boston. :silly:

7. I was born and raised in Texas |
|
I've lived in Virginia, Maryland, Mississippi, and, of course, all over the Lone Star State - well, Henrietta, Galveston, Houston, Conroe, Montgomery, The Woodlands, Llano county, and Austin - and now Washington State - seems I'm always going home to Texas. This time for good !
You know, you get up about half a hundred years old or so and you just want to go home and stay put.
We will be moving back to Austin - my wife is alresdy down there working for the state - and we have a place out in the country in Llano County we call Ashling ("dream") Ranch.

they were all so good. I saw Teddy's speech - most of it, but only read an excerpt from Obama's and then heard part of it on NPR today - sounded great.
Theresa's speech was magnificent too! ! !
I get so sick of pundits and others saying that the convention is scripted or is obsolete. Hell, if they want a mystery they should read the 9-11 Report, I hear it reads just like one . . . and I promise not to tell them the ending.

13. Now there is a question of monumental importance |

(just kidding) Actually, I think that upon further study, science will find that though he may be just a chimp of the ole blockhead, that W is in fact another species altogether. Interesting proposition which requires further (and immediate) study for the good of the country don'tcha think?
Of course, they will need the skull first.

15. I lost 20 lbs. once on the hospital food diet |
|
Had endocarditis and was in the hospital for a couple of weeks about 12 years ago.
I don't suggest it as a weight loss regimen.

Did I make a suggestion? :hi:
Bruce
On edit, I guess I DID suggest Texas is hell, but to a cool climate kinda guy who was born in Washington State, it sure seems close to hell to me. Wasn't it William Tecumseh Sherman who said, "If I owned both Texas and Hell, I'd live in Hell and rent out Texas", or some such statement. That said, I'm sure many people love living in Texas. I even have a step brother who lives in Austin.

Your subject line was . . . how shall I say . . "inappropriate"
Washington has its merits - when you can get out of the rain -
and TEXAS is far from the "hell" you assume it to be. I was born and raised there and have a deep love for my home state.
on edit: and, with all due respect, I will not sit idly by while you or anyone else casts aspersions her way.
Now to get back down there and kick those damn imported fire ants out of the statehouse! ! !

I now live in the dry side, but up in the hills. It's perfect! :hi:
Bruce On edit: My wife, who was born in Oklahoma, has more than enough stories about tornadoes, snakes, bugs and humidity to keep me away from the entire region. :hi: :hi: :hi:

my wife has traveled extensively for her job with the State of Washington. She was a monitor for a program through the Dept. of Community, Trade and economic development.
I understand it is beautiful.
I really do think this is a pretty place, but I want to go home!

As a native Washingtonian, I can empathize with wanting to live where you were born, except for that pesky RAIN all the time, and the slugs... Yukk! No slugs or mold over here! We need some more Dems in Texas, that's for sure, just like we need some more Dems in Eastern Washington. It's pretty Republican here. :hi:
