BERLIN (Reuters) - A German woman became so furious after a fight with her husband she stormed out of the house armed with a hammer and smashed up his car -- before realizing she had vandalized the wrong vehicle, police said Wednesday.



The 43-year-old from Essen, western Germany, told police she shattered the windshield, broke the headlights and wrenched off the wing mirrors, causing more than $1,200 in damage, because she was filled with rage after a telephone quarrel.


After going back indoors she realized she had battered the wrong car. Only noticing the color, she had attacked her neighbor's blue Opel Corsa and not the blue Ford Fiesta belonging to her spouse.

4. Quite common

Since before the war, Ford has plants in Germany (as does GM for that matter - both with a sad record during the 3rd Reich). The models are not 100% identical to their US sisters.

7. ford successfully sued the US Gov't for bombing one of its...

...factories in Hitler's Germany. They had subleased the factory to manufacture, if I remember correctly, ballbearings for Heinkel, which made it fair game for allied bombers. However, when it was hit, Ford sued and won.

I wish I could source that...I read it in a book about Henry Ford about a decade ago.

to the Europeans, we get the rejects. Could you imagine a Ford Tempo competing with Mercedes or BMW or Lexus for that matter?

German Fords go faster & have better (locally built) transmissions.
