15. A young man begs the guidance of a spiritual practitioner
The advice given is to begin by exercising himself in concentration of attention. "What kind of work do you do?" he asks the young man. "I keep the yaks on the hills," says the young man. "All right," says the yogi, "concentrate on a yak." The novice in his cell finds himself in a cave in the hills and begins to practice. After some time, the master goes to visit his student. Near to the cave the master calls for the student to come out. Hearing his master's voice, the student leaps to his feet and rushes to the entrance, but is unable to leave: He cries out, "I am sorry master, but my horns won't fit through the door!"

In that moment, he was enlightened.

19. The Zen Master
is visiting New York City from Tibet.

He goes up to a hotdog vendor and says, "Make me one with everything."

The hot dog vendor fixes a hot dog and hands it to the Zen Master, who pays with a $20 bill.

The vendor puts the bill in the cash box and closes it. "Where's my change?" asks the Zen Master.

The vendor responds, "Change must come from within."
