:wow:

I won't use their firewall.

They practically beg hackers to attack them with buggy hole-ridden code.

Now this!

Even if they offered this for free, I would still use a 3rd party solution. It's called Linux.

1. Actually....Their built in XP firewall is not that bad.
More times than often, it is Internet Explorer that lets in viruses. I quit using it and use Mozilla's Firefox instead (free). What a great browser and really, really fast (great for dial-ups).

It does not use the ActiveX like IE which is the link/hole for all the viruses to invade.

2. XP SP2 with its improved firewall is coming...
the funny part is, SP2 is rumored to break a lot of applications in the process.

MS needs to stay out of security. They cannot be trusted at all.

4. Yeah, I read that the other day. I think they are making it...
more like a Zonealarm type package, but built in. They need more protection, that is for sure.

8. Rumors
You really need to stop listening to rumors, I am using XP with SP2 and It hasn't broken any of my apps. And I run a LOT of applications.

Most of the beta testers have not had any Issues with broken apps with SP2.

7. I think the real issue is that M$ gives tons to Republicans...
bastards. Apple is very Democrat friendly and donates money to the party. I would buy a mac if I could afford it. Unfortunately, the price is about three times more than what I can spend building a PC.

I can not use Linux, OS-wise, because they offer crappy design software and I am a graphic/web designer. Oh well...

12. Doesn't make Macs very consumer friendly if they cost that much for
a decent one. (I've seen the specs; no way would I buy a low-end one... and I'd get more PC power overall for $3000 than I would a mac, even if it has two G5 CPUs in it.)

Linux software will improve. If Adobe, et al, don't get on the bandwagon, others will. And I'd rather support them as Adobe's prices are outright murder.

14. Exactly...
In my business, I would need the higher end of the Mac spectrum. Unfortunately, my bank roll is about the size of pocket lint. LOL.

I can dream. Dreams are free, right... right? :-)

13. Why would someone trust a new entrant into the market ...
When Symantec, McAfee and Trend have been doing this all their lives?

17. Symantec and McAfee are bloated...
Symantec slows down your system dramatically and McAfee comes loaded with their own spyware. I use to get their adds and messages flying up in the lower right of the screen all the time.

If you want a really good, free, anti-virus system then try Avast! 4 fro the home. Excellent product.

15. But they sell the industry's largest virus-delivery system!
Yes, I'm talking about Outlook.

Isn't that a conflict of interest?

16. That's it.
My next computer will be a Mac. I'm scared to think of how much of a clusterfuck this new program will be.
