Ok, ok, a bit harsh.
But yesterday I was given a definate diagnosis, I am mildly manic-depressive. (On low dosage of lithium for it.)
So why don't I feel any better yet? Is it due to the fact that those who are mentally ill are still stigmatized?
How the media plays up those who flip out and cause mayhem?
How I'm no longer allowed in one sister's house or near her kids?
Sorry, just a bit upset here.

but please stay on your meds... I dated this woman who was bipolar and when I met her, she was great... but after a few months of dating, she decided that she didn't need lithium anymore and stopped taking it... WOW, within a week or two things really freaked out... and we broke up very quickly (plus she got fired) and other bad things happened.

I said to my sister, "If your own kids get any mental illness then don't expect one iota of sympathy from me, you bigoted asshole!"
She hung up on me.

Many people have problems that pile up to a point that they are no longer solvable. Much like trying to squeeze Niagra Falls through a soda straw. Soon the soda straw collapses.
Give the meds time to interact and you will find perspectives you never thought existed.
This advise may not make sense yet, but hang in there, it will.
