What's worse?
Trying to get a student loan, having just went through a bankruptcy

or

Trying to get a student loan to further one's career while paying off a LOT of debt?

It's the only way I can move up in my company and I know that getting a job in the future will be slim at best, and for far worse pay. Trouble is, time and money are short, assuming this position is actually created...

I will be going for mt Bachelors' in Business Administration, if not getting a management certificate program beforehand to get me to a suitable entry-level position.

Thx!

1. Learn a trade
like plumber or electrician or mechanic, something that can't easily be outsourced. These careers seem to be the ones that would be most stable....wish I had these instead of my two college degrees, which are useless to me now.

2. Heh, a gay mechanic... that'll go over well...
I thought of that a year ago. My psychologist recommended against it, particularly if I was outed.

Jobs that can't be outsourced will merely drop in value here in home.

I think management is the best way to go...

5. You'd have no trouble in Newton Co AR
lesbian communes here, lots of gays, Eureka Springs nearby also....but if management is what you want to do, go for it!

3. Nursing
another thing that can't be outsourced.

It will be more and more in demand; maybe even appreciated some day.

4. depends on how much you owe
can you get a big enough loan to pay off current debt as well as pay for school?

if you're really heavy into debt, you can get the student loan, THEN do the bankruptcy. You won't be able to include the student loan in the bankruptcy so you can use that to rebuild credit by paying that off.

good luck,

6. Toad, I dunno. I will tell you this. we went through bankruptcy BUT
it did not cancel out our student loans.. just credit card debts. So we are doing better financially but the student loans continue to accrue interest and I worry that we will never be out from under them.

You ought to make arrangements to talk to a bankruptcy lawyer to get the real scoop on this. It costs $, yes, but it is worth it if it means you will have a sound financial plan to work from.

Good luck!!

*hugs*
