Wow what a great movie! When i was a teen (a long time ago),I red most of Azimov's book. And the one i prefer is his robot books.Best sci-fi movie in a long time.Exept for Matrix 1.

1. Really? I did not care for it and I am a big Sci-Fi fan. |
|
The big problem, besides the same character-type Will Smith always plays, was the bad CGI work. The animation was horrible, often making them seem like animated, jumping ants.
It could have been better.

2. CGI only goes so far... |
|
and they need a whole room of super-computers to render that stuff. Now, we're talking a room-full of $40K+ computers... Thats a lot of hourse power, but it still struggles with CGI like they had in Spiderman or I, Robot.

6. That's realistic, really. |

Mentally, robots are more like ants than humans.

3. I was pleasantly surprised. |
|
I thought it was a pretty good movie.
The action scenes were dumb, but you've got to pretty much ignore those nowadays, they're like commercials before the film starts. Dumb action scenes are ubiquitous.
And anybody who complains about bad special effects isn't really a sci-fi fan.

just because I think the CGI was bad does not mean I am not a Sci-Fi lover. I thought Star Wars had cheese effects, even back then, but I still love the movie (the first and second only).

Anybody who thinks such-and-such a movie/TV show is bad, because the special effects were bad, isn't a real sci-fi fan.

10. "anybody who complains about bad special effects isn't really a sci-fi fan |
|
fan".Yep like in video games, the graphics is not the most important element. It's the gameplay that counts. And in movies that's the story who is important and in this one the story was good.
