Chef:NO a/c for White Hse Chef,nor restraunt kitchens-WHY?
what is this tradition of no a/c for chefs working in restrauants nor even the White house Pastry Chef?

I saw cooks drinking gin to cope with extreme heat in a cafe kitchen as a kid. Sadistic.

Is this loony tradition still all over? what do sadists say to justify horrid working conditions?
