Teen Eats Hash Cookie At School - Collapses

A TEENAGER collapsed and was taken to hospital after eating a cake containing cannabis at his school, authorities said today.

The 14-year-old student was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital about noon (CST) yesterday after eating the cake, which had been passed on by another student at Taminmin High School, a police spokesman said.

Police were investigating the incident, but it was not yet known if any charges would be laid.

Taminmin High principal Kim Rowe said it was an unfortunate, isolated incident.

"I'm not really all that interested in going into too many details ... because it's something that we want to address here ourselves particularly," Mr Rowe told ABC radio.
