WOW! auto checkouts at the local mal-wart
I don't know what to think about this, auto checkouts don't ask for better wages and benefits, well, yes I do it sucks. A job at mal-wart is a shit job, but, at least it's a job for many people aroumd here, it's the best they can do, and now, autocheckouts. Let the layoffs begin.

you could take classes to learn how to repair those machines, that took you poverty-wage cashier job, but alas, they will be sent overseas to be repaired instead.

2. I refuse to use those things...
They take away jobs from people who need them. Just today I stood in line at a grocery store rather than use one.

I've noticed that a lot of people avoid them. Part of it must be the technology aspect, but I think that a lot of people prefer having a real human check them out.

3. I use them at our grocery store...
...and I LIKE them!

If I find myself in a Wal-Mart I'll use them there, too because Wal-Mart customers (and clerks) are not always the swiftest people on the block.

6. Do you get a discount?
After all, you're doing part of their job for them aren't you?

7. I get out of there faster - that's premium enough for me.
What I refuse to do is bag groceries at a manned checkout. I see a lot of people do that.

So at least I'm protecting *that* job.

5. I don't mind them if I have a few items
it's usually quicker than standing in line.

But last year when I was very sick (nauseous and profoundly fatigued) I wanted to crown my sister. She wanted to go through the auto check out. I wasn't thinking and followed her there with my 8-9 items of fresh produce that had to be looked up, weighed, and then priced. :grr: It took my twice as long as going through the regular line would have when I didn't have the strength to hardly stand up. :grr:

But I got over it eventually.

Heh. I couldn't figure out how that would work and why it would be a good thing.

9. So they found a way to lay off another checker AND
make the customer do the checker's work for free.

What a deal! Next thing you know instead of going to Wal Mart to buy a bicycle, you'll get there and they'll charge you admission to the bicycle factory where you have to build your own bicycle.

12. Wal-Mart has nothing I need, and shopping there is foolish

Go ahead and patronize a company that specializes in destroying the middle class if you want but your fucking over America every time you do.

14. I was against buying stuff at Wal-Mart on principle...
Then I got stuff from my mom that came from there, and it's all *crap*, so now I've got praxis behind my principle. I'd rather pay a little more and get something that isn't a cheap POS.

I don't like auto-checkouts. The only time I've ever had any experience with them, my fiance was using one at a Home Despot near where he lives. The stupid thing rang up the wrong item, and then hung when he tried to cancel the transaction. Yeah, that works really well...

13. Did the prices go down when they installed the auto-checkouts and
terminated the live cashiers? Hell no.

Any profits realized go to the good ol' boys at the top of the Wally World food chain.

Fuggem.

15. The only time I ever used one,
was at Home Depot when I was buying one box of nails and the in the few checkouts that were open, the lines were 5 or 6 people deep.

At the grocery, if I have a lot of stuff, I wait in line. If I have a few things, I go through the express checkout.

16. Noah and I refuse to shop at wal-Mart...
We refused to shop at Wal-Mart because I heard that Wal-Mart gave $100,000 to the Republican party. No money that I worked hard for is ever going into Wal-Mart again., especially since they want to spend MY money I spent on them towards the Freepish Party!
