5. Without a simple user interface, masses of people
would not be communicating with their computers. Generally, command line language isn't for most people. The beauty of the GUI is the simplicity of use.

I don't for a minute believe that Bush is a simple mind: I do believe he wants to appear simple. It's a mask he deliberately wears to fool others.

Now there's a word for ya: "fool" is much closer to "stupid".

3. As in "Tis a gift to be simple, Tis a gift to be free?"
Like the Shakers?

They were on to something in terms of living with the basics and giving time to exploring mental, artistic and spiritual exercises instead of the pursuit of more and more material things.

And the movement might have caught on were it not for that chastity bit.

4. Daggone Shakers! They were a splinter group off Quakers,
and "Simple Gifts" is a Quaker song! We Quakers are still around, though.....be afraid.

7. I am old and not yet simple.
To see all things clearly, humbly, effortlessly.

It can look foolish and stupid, but, in time, if properly simple, it it proves true, simple and free.

11. What if you are Amish?

Don't they pride themselves on being simple, too?

In their case, it would be TV bad, books good... :-)
