dodgers trade lo duca to marlins in 6 player deal..
What the hell are they thinking?!! The Dodgers are on fire, and they trade Lo Duca in the hopes of landing The Unit. Way to shake things up. Go Pads!

<snip>

The Florida Marlins traded pitcher Brad Penny, Hee Seop Choi and highly regarded Double-A pitcher Bill Murphy to the Dodgers for relief pitcher Guillermo Mota, catcher Paul Lo Duca and outfielder Juan Encarnacion.

If the Big Unit says yes to a trade to the Dodgers -- the D-Backs approached Johnson on Thursday again about accepting a possible deal to the Dodgers and Johnson said he would sleep on it, Gammons reported -- it would set in motion other trades that would also include outfielder Steve Finley being dealt

1. Fucking Morans Loduca is a Giant Killer
I am Giants Fan. The Dodgers had the division all but sewed up. Their pitching, defense, hitting and clutch play was on hit. They just fucked up team chemistry and gave the Padres and Giants new hope.

2. all they had to do was sit back, and watch the pads and giants..
beat the crap out of each other fighting for the wildcard. How stupid do you have to be. Listening to Hacksaw now, and it just doesn't sound like Johnson's going to leave Arizona.

4. From the Marlins perspective
I think it's a good move from our standpoint. The team needed a Catcher, with Ramon Castro being a major bust. We have some options now that we brought Encarnacion back. His numbers weren't great this year, but he is an asset and is familiar with the team.

I don't like that we gave up Penny, though. He was 8-8 this year, but had an ERA around 3. If Beckett, Pavano, Willis, and Burnett stay healthy, the rotation should be fine. Unfortunately, Beckett and Burnett have been hurt, and Dontrelle has been inconsistent.

I guess they'll put Encarnacion somewhere in the Outfield, move Conine to 1B, and place LoDuca behind the plate.
