Screw either of those. At least we get closure with B5....and they have sex and marry during B5.

14. I was going to "write B5 in" but you beat me to it.
It had substance, intelligence and a continuing plotline. And the characters weren't cardboard cutouts either.

(Disclaimer: None of the praise above applies to the bogus final season of the show)

17. I'm actually watching B5 on DVD
great show but the idea that all of Treks characters were cardboard cutouts is insane.

There were some darn good characters in the various incarnations of Trek:

Spock
Data
Sisko
Rom
Kira

Ok no one on Voyager works

DS9 had a continuing plotline, substance and intelligence. Just a cheap shot, all three have their strengths and weaknesses...but I would put it

DS9
Stargate
B5
TNG
TOS
Star Wars

Voyager

Enterprise

21. Hmm
I agree that DS9 is the best, although Sisko often seemed a little weak as a character and a commander until they grew him a beard, shaved his head, promoted him to Captain, and gavehim a warship. I would have placed Voyager directly below TNG, Stargate (the TV series, the movie is much better) below star wars, and TOS between Star Wars and Stargate.

Enterprise belongs several more spaces down.

28. DS9 is heavily influenced by B5
I was never able to see in DS9 anything else, but a B5 clone.
(Ok, with a better budget)

Even the mechanics seem cloned:
B5 has the Jumpgate, DS9 the Wormhole.
B5 gets the Whitestar, DS9 the Defiant.
...

Considering that B5 sells for about €35 a season and DS9 for about €100, it is rather easy to guess which series I bought on DVD.

16. There was talk of a new series about 5 months ago
Due to the financial success of the DVDs. Anyone hear anything new about that?

27. JMS is being secretive, as usual.
But last I heard, there is a Babylon 5-based project in the works.
I don't know any more about it, except he's calling it B5:TMoS.
Have no idea what TMoS means, either. But he said he was done with the script: www.jmsnews.com/msg.aspx?id=1-17073

liberal ideals.

The only original Star Trek episode I remember though is the one with the rock-like alien creature that set stuff on fire.

25. I'm just having fun, as well.
I'm making fun of myself a little. I like science fiction, but I'm a little disturbed and amused by both people who don't see the "fiction" part and those who make fun of them.
