How much is an automatic sunroof worth?
I'm selling my old Toyota that has 86k miles on it so I can buy my parents' old car. My gas mileage will go from 27 to 24  but it's 6 cylinder, 4 wheel drive, has cruise control so I won't get any more !*@&#^$% speeding tickets, has 40k miles, and needs tires and a CD changer O8).

I saw the Kelley blue book value for the basic car. Then I looked up some dealer prices, which sold the car for twice as much (!), but I'm sure I can tack on a few more $ for the fully operational electric moonroof...

Thx!

1. Usually a couple hundred bucks
Depends on the car, condition, etc, but it adds 2-3 hundred bucks.

2. The sunroof in my Saturn four-door was in the $700 - $800 range.
As far as its worth? I love it.

3. edmunds.com will evaluate the value of the car for you, including all
the options.

Great site.

4. Depends on how bad you want to stay dry, and how hard and
fast the rain is coming, I imagine.

5. check out nada.com and kbb.com
nada.com is the place that the dealer, and also the bank (if you get a loan) will use to check the value of the car. More than likely, the dealer and the bank will end up with differing figures, both of which will be different than what YOU will get from nada.com, but that's the way it goes.

But it'll give you a good ballpark figure for what you can expect the car to be considered worth. I've noticed that the Kelley Blue Book price tends to be higher (at least for retail value) on cars than nada.

nada stands for North American Dealership Association, btw.

6. I wish somebody would talk some sense into my ESSO

She has an '85 Honda, and thinks it's worth more than the $300 the dealer is offering her. I tell her that it's WORTH $300 not to hassle with people wasting her time trying to get the car for the $100 it's probaby worth (high milage, body is returning to Mother Earth)
Kelly's and Edmund's both say it's worthless...

Good luck with selling the Toyota!
