1. You ARE somebody
Say this to yourself:

I Am
Somebody
I Am
Somebody
I May Be Poor
But I Am
Somebody
I May Be Young
But I Am
Somebody
I May Be On Welfare
But I Am
Somebody
I May Be Small
But I Am
Somebody
I May Make A Mistake
But I Am
Somebody
My Clothes Are Different
My Face Is Different
My Hair Is Different
But I Am
Somebody
I Am Black
Brown
White
I Speak A Different Language
But I Must Be Respected
Protected
Never Rejected
I Am
God's Child

2. I LOATHE Emily Dickinson...
...probably do to my high school AP English taecher's love for her poetry and the 5 weeks we spent reading it.

Give me T.S. Eliot any day.

4. How could you loathe someone
...whose poetry is so singable to the tune of Gilligan's Island? Think about it:
"Because I could not stop for death he kindly stopped for me...."
"Why did they kick me out of heaven? Did I sing too loud?"
etc.

5. I'd never thought of it that way...that's hysterical.

3. I'm everybody
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 10:41 AM by ayeshahaqqiqa
in that we are all interconnected....so the guy who is hungry is me, the woman who is discriminated against is me...the Jew, the Muslim, the Christian, the atheist who is hated for their belief-all me. And I welcome them all, and try my darndest to understand and tolerate all. That's why I am a Democrat. The ones who give the most problem are the self-righteous, intolerant ones--you know, Republicans. The part of Kerry's speech where he reaches out in bi-partisanship struck home with me, and I will work my hardest to see this decent man elected President.

edited to add more stuff.
