DU Convention photos -- Day 7 -- The LOOOONG ride home.

What an amazing week! We had such a great time in Boston. We're all really pumped up, excited to be Democrats, and looking forward to the campaign season. It's really sad to be home -- back to the daily grind. The ride home was a nightmare: more than 12 hours on the road (compared to 9 and a half on the way up). But we did take a very beautiful detour through the mountains around the Hudson river.

About five or ten miles from the Tappan Zee bridge, the traffic was standing still. So we decided to take a detour.

10. Years ago, my husband took me on the scenic route in the Hudson River

area. I remember one part of that little trip that I always remember as Thunder Mountain Road (don't know if that's the real name or just one that thought up myself).

Being no fan of high high places, I cannot say I enjoyed the detour, but will admit that the scenery was spetacular. I would have enjoyed it a bit more if the drop off on the side of the road hadn't gone down for what looked like a couple of thousand feet into deep dark water.

Sounds and looks like you all had a blast. Did you get into any of the Old Town part of Boston while you were there?
