Great , little known 2004 albums

Remember to make your selections 2004 releases. Here's my list:

Penelope Houston - Pale Green Girl
Abra Moore - Everything Changed
A.C. Newman - Slow Wonder
Mary Lou Lord - Baby Blue

I have others, like Patti Smith - Trampin', Mindy Smith - One Moment More, Maria Mena - White Turns Blue, Corrs - Borrowed Heaven, and PJ Harvey - Uh Huh Her that aren't well-known, but they wouldn't really fall into the little-known category.

I have been satisfied with all the 2004 releases I have bought. Even kind of liked the new Ashlee Simpson. Sometimes Ashlee gets the combination of rock and bubblegum right. But the four little known albums I mentioned are well worth checking out. Hadn't even heard of Penelope Houston before, and now Penelope is a fave of mine. Penelope used to be in the San Francisco punk band The Avengers (existed from 1977-1982,) but Pale Green Girl has a great jangly sound somewhat reminiscent of the Byrds.

Now add to my list. :-)

1. I love that AC Newman record

His work with the New Pornographers is just as stellar.

I'll have to check out that Penelope Houston album, I'm a big fan of The Avengers.

I'm still hung up on some of the 2003 Elephant 6 releases. The Minders in particular.

She is an AMAZING solo performer. Recommended.
