Does anyone remember the Saturday morning "In The News" program on CBS? It was great. My husband and I were watching Apollo 13 tonight and I thought about "In the News" and how it shaped my love of the Apollo program and NASA, and also got me into politics. I can't remember the name of the "host"? Does anyone out there remember it? I do believe it ended up having a profound effect on me. I bet Walter had something to do with it! Also, kudos to all those who posted on the Bush Drops Barney thread. I needed a good laugh and that did it!

In fact, I have a segment of "In The News" on VHS. I got it seven years ago, when I recorded the debut broadcast of Nick at Nite's TV Land channel.
Oddly, I never again saw "In The News" on TV Land, but it was great to catch it again even once after all those years!

2. Gosh, I would love to see it. |

Linda Ellerbee seems to be carrying the flame. I watched her show on the Iraq war with my daughter. She (my daughter) had already been to several protests by that time. We need shows like it now. Letter campaign?

This show was on in the early seventies. I think it was some guy named Chris, it is driving me crazy. He had black hair, rather "matted" down.

4. do any of you remember Industry On Parade!? |

It opened with machinery. I remember a line of reapers end to end across a vast field, etc. Remember Edward R. Murrow and the White Papers?
That was journalism.

But I was raised to love Edward R. The closest you can get today is Daniel Schoor (sp?) on NPR, Saturdays at 9ish. He is one of Ed's guys --
