So's everyone staying sharp, drinking their half bottle of wine a day? |
|
And speaking of dull, not only has Christopher Hitchens gone nutso with his politics, he can't even write a coherent book review. I just finished reading his review of Edwin Williamson's biography of Jorge Luis Borges, and, damn, Hitchens doesn't make a damn bit of sense. The whole piece just rambles, but without connection. It's as if he had a whole week's worth of half-bottles of wine before he began writing. Ugh. I suspect he was trying to create a Labyrinth of some sort, but, uh, you've really got to be sober to do that. Oh, and you've also got to have serious talent, and Hitchens clearly does not rise to that level.
So, anyone up for a conversation about Heloise and Abelard?
Or how about this? Who here has read a book titled "Forgotten Fatherland: The Search for Elizabeth Nietzsche" by Ben Macintyre? And, of those who have read it, what did ya think?
Salud!

1. It takes a whole lot more than half bottles of wine |

to scramble the senses to the extent of Hitchens. I would suspect perhaps a long term cheap Bourbon and peanuts diet combined with a nervous breakdown might better account for that clown's mental erosion.

3. I forgot why I posted this thread. |

Perhaps I had a bit more than a half a bottle.
