4. It is if your wife hates it. |

Especially if she's queezy to begin with. Plus, the hormones are hell. Find some cutesy name, like peanut, or beta.

Just being technically accurate.

9. My friend called my god-daughter's fetus "Malvina Winona" |
|
and she turned out great (eventually named Katie). Another friends called her zygote "Bodacious Moonrabbit" and threatened to name her that. Grandma paid up and the baby was named Addie.
Bargaining with grandparents is essential.

If you are planning on birthing & raising "it", seems you should treat it less clinically...
Just IMO, though...

what are you going to name the female child?
Call it that.
Our Katie (really Katherine) was called Katie from 20 weeks on (when we found out she was a she).
But then we're kinda sentimental.
And we kept referring to her as "it" before that and it just didn't seem right.
"It kicked."

25. "The baby" isn't acceptable to you? |
|
At about 16 weeks i felt her kick for the fist time and she became "the baby" to me. Even the Perinatologist was on board when he tried to do the Amnio and couldn't get it done because of how she was laying. I will NEVER forget him saying, "It is just poor form to skewer the baby when you do an amnio."
We DID play with the name "Dread Pirate _____" (from the Princess Bride where the Dread Pirate Roberts was a name that was handed on from one guy to the next)
My SIL was convinced that we were just silly enough to actually call a kid Dread Pirate (last name here)

If Michael Jackson can call his born child "Blanket" then why can't you call your unborn child "the fetus"? It's not an incorrect name now is it?

30. I invoke George Carlin |
|
And I heavily paraphrase...
"If these people think a fetus is a person, then why do they say they have three children and one on the way instead of saying they have four children? I'm just looking for some consistency in these pro-life arguments here."

when she is not holding anything that could be used to hurt you.
