It's been an "Ice Cream Day" in NH! |
|
My mother used to use that term. It meant a day that was clear and crisp and bright. After a brutally cold winter and a pretty lousy spring and summer, we finally got one of those #10 days. Temps in the high '70's, bright blue sky, nice breeze.
I got alot done today and then sat on my porch and watched some joker try to sail a boat across the lake. He luffed and luffed and luffed. He was obviously trying to get someplace and didn;t understand that when you are sailing, you go with the wind and usually get there indirectly...isn't that the story of most of our lives!
Anyway, there are signs of fall already here... the random leaf falling...the chipmonks being very busy...the 40 degree temps at night...the sun passing lower in the sky. A little sad, but I will hold this beautiful day close to me and remember it when the winter comes. :-)

For that lovely post. I wish I was in New Hampshire, having spent much time there in the past.
