Poll question: Favorite Member of the Rat Pack? |
|
I get the feeling this has probably been done here before, but what the hell? I haven't done it, so it's new to me.

Sorry, I know, I just don't find much more boring, mundane, and overrated than the "rat pack". Their whole aesthetic bugs the crap outta me. Generational boats and all, I suppose-- but it would be physically impossible for me to care less.

60s produced some of the best music ever.. and I'm in my mid 30s. My aesthetic tends towards tie-dyes, long hair and beards, as opposed to 3 piece suits, martinis and crew cuts. Just how it is. In terms of generational boats, it doesn't necessarially mean the time you're born into.
I can't get into 70s nostalgia, either (or 80s). I remember the 70s and the 80s from the first time around, and while I cut my political activism teeth during the Reagan era, and some of the best bands in the world did come out of that time, I have no desire to revisit vespa scooters or Miami Vice.
But to each his own. I just find Frank, Sammy, Dean, and the rest of that crew interminably boring.

And about half a dozen others, as well. I just think Dean Martin was one cool cat, daddio. ;)

If I had to pick one, it would probably be him.
Frank's got some great songs, but he gives me the willies.

10. Peter Lawford...and not just because of the Quaaludes, Ejacusuck.... |
|
cocaine, and menage a trois...OKAY...those are the only reasons I picked Peter Lawford.
Read "The Peter Lawford Story" It is the most sordid, trashy little bio I have ever run across.
