Both families pin the start of the trouble to July 24, 2003, when Michael Juliano, 42, noticed a piece of wood missing from under his fence. Wilson claimed that she moved the wood a few feet so that she could mow the sewer culvert that separates their properties. Juliano called police to report the missing wood, and responding officers reported that Wilson admitted stealing it. She claims she didn't.
Robichaud said the case was a civil matter and dismissed it from her courtroom.
From there, the situation escalated, with the Julianos filing dozens of complaints alleging that Sheila Wilson repeatedly videotaped them, their 10-year-old son and guests on their deck or in the pool.
Wilson was charged last year with one count of harrassment for allegedly videotaping the family on Aug. 28. Wilson claims that she was videotaping her two dogs. That charge was moved to East Greenbush after Robichaud recused herself because of the Julianos' lawsuit. Wilson said she was granted a conditional discharge by East Greenbush Judge Kevin Engel. The case is sealed and East Greenbush court officials declined to discuss it.
The couple also alleged that Wilson shot BBs at their house and at the pool, ripping the liner, and that she put dog feces on their car. Most recently, they filed complaints alleging that Wilson, an avid hunter who said she owns guns, shined a red-laser scope light on the heads of their son and a friend as they sat in the kitchen and that she made an obscene gesture at the Julianos and their house guests.
"I'm so upset about what is going on. My family has to move, we can't live here anymore," said Michael Juliano, who said he put his house up for sale. "You can't have people pointing laser lights at your kids as they are sitting around the kitchen table."
