Motivate me to get off my ass and clean my house.
I need to wash clothes, a few dishes, mop, vacuum, dust, and put stuff up--you know, stuff like legos and matchbox cars.

But I'd rather piss around in the Lounge instead.

Say something to motivate me to get up and clean this house.

Self-motivation? Baah!

1. You are mired in filth.
Microbic creatures are migrating from the filth to your feet. Climbing up your legs, exploring your orifices, swimming into your brain. Eating it.

Clean quickly! Save yourself!

Pick out one chore and do it. Don't squawk. Just pick out one.

Now now! No eye-rolling. Off with you! Do it.

Plus, I have to go buy groceries for school lunches next week. Damn, I might as well consign myself to live in a funky house. :-)

9. :-) Ever since I read Fast Food Nation and told him about the...
quality of meat in school lunches, he refuses to eat school lunch anymore, and, trust me, it would be much cheaper and easier for me if he would do so. But, every morning, I drag myself out of bed thirty minutes earlier than I would otherwise to pack a lunch.

Ok, I am going to go start a load of clothes and wash dishes. I'll check in as I finish each chore, though.

I wish I didn't have anything to do and could drink a few beers this afternoon...but alas, not until I finish cleaning this trainwreck of a house.

It'll all be there tomorrow.
Too close to the cocktail hour (or hair-of-the-dog hour in my case) anyway.
Practice your procrastinations.
Hone your skills.
See?

Are you keeping neosporin on it?

I am thinking about getting up and getting all of this done, and then going to the store to pick up his lunch stuff and a six pack for myself. Now that is motivation. :-)

27. Better, thanks.
Went to a big party last night. Big white bandage on my hand.
I made a sign and put it in a plastic badge holder.
Clipped it on my shirt.

SELTZER
BOTTLE
EXPLODED
IN MY HAND

Saved a lot of explanation unless they wanted the long (and much more interesting) version.

14. I heard this on a tv show:
Imagine what would happen if you died and someone had to go through your house organizing your belongings. What would they come across? Would you, if you could, feel humiliated? It is the clean underwear theroy of motivation.

19. Oh lord! My father was a fireman when I was a teen...
He used to tell me about some of the nasty houses they were called out to. He said, "If the ambulance or fire department were called out and they had to come to your room, wouldn't you be embarassed?"

Usually I keep a very clean house, but I have let it slip since I got back from vacation. Just can't get motivated!

50. UPDATE ON HOUSECLEANING!!
I'm through in the kitchen...even cleaned out the fridge and climbed up on a stool and 409'd the greasy residue off the top of the fridge.

I moved the cookbooks to another shelf, rearranged the medicine cabinet, cleaned the huge light fixture, and moved the wrought-iron soda table and chairs onto the back patio. Now I'm in the market for a rustic table and chairs for the breakfast nook.

I cooked dinner for my son--quesadillas, refried beans, and spanish rice--yum!

I'm taking a break to watch 6FU, and will get back to it after the show goes off. That's something about Nate, isn't it? Why can't he just wake up and realize he was meant to be with Bren??

I have some jelly jar mugs and a glass pumpkin jar that just clutter the kitchen...what can I do with them? I also need a shelf for my stainless cookware.

See, once I start, I can't stop. Cleaning my house can be VERy EXPENSIVE.

:-)
