Watching the movie again right now. Wow, what a gathering.

Who was the best act? I'm kinda partial to Sly Stone.

What incredible political statements being made by this music. I wish I'd been born 20 years earlier.

4. My oldest sister did.
She said it was NOT fun, cold, rainy, then hot and muddy, with good music.

7. Looked cold and wet...
I need to go find more of the music. Jimi right from Star Spangled Banner into Purple Haze. Wow.

5. I bought a ticket for all three days for $18
which was more than a day's pay back then. Then I saw the NY Thruway backups and alarmist news reports on the TeeVee, and WIMPED OUT by selling my ticket to a friend. This has been a major source of the self-loathing I've wallowed in for lo these many years.
As you may know, my friend didn't need a ticket to get in. Did I offer him his money back? No. Fuck him. He got to go and I didn't.

8. I missed it...Some of my friends went, but I wimped out......
Dammit

As an aside...When you watch Santana, his drummer, Mike Schreve, was 16 years old and technically a runaway. The band just took him along across America to NY.
Watch the kid's drum solo.

9. I'm in the movie! I'm the dirty hippie kid who got hurt & David Crosby
came over and tried to help. I was 7 and had wavy long brown hair and buck teeth.

10. Wasn't there, but lived
in the Haight in '68 and remember when they closed the street down and the Grateful Dead played. Got to see many good groups at the Fillmore - and by the way, we all thought that the government had infiltrated Berkeley and the Haight and were providing bad dope to the kids.

But, I'll tell you all something: this election, this year is to me almost better than those crazy years. Now, there are millions and millions of us out there, from every walk of life, gathering nationwide to depose the Idiot Prince. You guys didn't miss anything, it's happening now !!!

Keep rockin', keep surfin' !
