it's been almost a month since i've been given the finger.

Despite the John Kerry for President, Joe Hoeffel for US Senate, Democraticunderground.com, and the "One Term President" sticker, I thought i'd be getting a lot more negativity.

At the same time though, I've never noticed anyone with Kerry stickers wave at me.

I must be equally unremarkable to both sides.

1. I could wave or
I could give you the finger, if you really want. Dammit man, it's Pittsburgh!

4. remember, most of my time isn't spent in pittsburgh.
it's in the conservative area around it. so i'm waiting for it...at all times...

6. yeah, but I really think "conservative" around here
isn't the same as the middle of the state or other more rabid states. I could be wrong, though. Penn Hills has a lot of Reps. Like the guy at Long John Silver who lectured me about CLinton last year. Maybe they are too polite. Seriously though, you'll just have to work harder to have someone give you the finger.

11. i guess it would take a big picture...
of george bush raping the statue liberty to get the job done.

13. don't hold back there, Wil
thanks for that great image. How about a pic of him using the Constitution for TP. No, John Ashcroft would already be using that or the Bill or Rights to cover up statues' genitalia.

15. we were debating in a class of mine...
someone said that it was a good thing for ashcroft to cover the statue with that ridiculously expensive drape.

I made the comment, "Ashcroft obviously believes that it qualifies as pornography...and he's absolutely correct."

class, almost in unison: "what?"

completing my statement, this time, the sarcasm was more thick "yeah, didn't you hear? until he got that they were practically cleaning the stains off every 10 minutes..."

before i could finish, in unison once again "ugghh..."

:-)

19. that's really bad, Wil
one of your classics...:) Trust that you will always cut to the heart of the matter and give everyone a fresh and perhaps disturbing view of things!

I myself was horrified that he chose to cover that statue; it is incredible to me that anyone could be 1. That puritanical, 2. that unable to see the distinction between symbol and "reality" or even taking the symbol to such an absurd level ( really basically misunderstanding the meaning of art) 3. So sexist and 4. So fucking clueless!

2. I have a "Bush/Cheney - America's Second Choice" sticker on my car
And have had it for three years, living in Montana. I haven't had a single person do anything inappropriate while driving, which shocks the hell out of me.... I guess people just can't argue with math

5. Had my front windows on my car smashed the other night.
Pretty sure it was the Kerry sticker that did it.

Been parking there for 4 years, and nothing.

The first day I parked there with the sticker on BAM!

So I then put plastic up to get home, and I get a ticket!

Not my day I guess.

9. Thanks.
Like I said, no real way to know.

But the timing was there.

Oh well, they aren't getting me to take it off.

And I live in a pretty liberal area too.

But we have our share of freeper facists.

17. I've had a couple of thumbs up, a nice conversation with another
Kerry bumper sticker in the parking lot, and that's about it. It's been a positive experience so far. :hi:

18. I always give the thumbs up to other drivers with Kerry stickers
I saw 3 stickers in Dallas and was much encouraged. One car had 3 stickers on it: a Kerry sticker, "Anyone But Bush" and "Vote Republican - It's Easier Than Thinking." This was on a car parked in my husband's new apartment complex, which is a medical park for new faculty, residents and students at UT Southwestern. I have a Kerry sticker and my DU sticker on my car in PA and no harm has come to me yet. I've met very, very few people in the Pittsburgh area who can abide Bush.
