Just ordered my next set of Absynthe! Can't wait!!!

This stuff looks good - three bottles of their strongest absynthe (that is strongest in thujone, the wormwood extract that gives absynthe it's *kick*)!

God, I can't wait to try this stuff! These guys usually ship pretty quickly...

It's a weird law - legal to own, legal to buy, just not legal to sell.

You can have up to 2 liters legally.

3. What does that stuff taste like?

4. Depends on the absynthe

Its usually really strong in alchohol (70%), and there is usually a bitter taste, and the flavor of some anise. It's kind of medicinal, but its real easy to learn to love.

Best to try it first mixed - it mixes really well with Sprite, but you can do it traditionally too with sugar and water.

5. Wondering

If you have tried Sabor Absinth? How do these compare? I really like it a lot. Took a couple of shots last night and closed my eyes and for a few moments saw dancing green fairies. Weird, but wonderful.

7. Havent tried that yet, but I tried Absynthe Original

Which is supposed to be very similar. I liked it, but for the price ($80 for 700ml) its a little high...

i grow artemesia 'Powys Castle.' it is a mutant of wormwood that sprung up at powys castle in wales. as a sometime painter, i have always felt it was an obligation on my part to try absinthe. one day....

Especially one with a high thujone content. A reputable dealer would be nice too. A friend of mine ordered an bottle, and when she got it she was convinced that she had gotten some green-colored uzo or Pernaud instead.

http://www.laboheme.uk.com/ Is really good for the Czech Absynthes. I personally reccomend Absynthe Shulz - good deal for your $$$. Not the highest thujone, but not the lowest either.

http://www.feeverte.net/ doesnt sell absynthe, but they have a lot of good reviews on different brands

http://www.spiritscorner.com/ing/ is a great place to buy Western European Absynthe. Deva is good if you like it sweet, but they have a lot of other brands. They also ship quickly.

It's Staroplzenecky Absinth from the Czech Republic.



The label says, "We recommend you add water slowly and wait for the opalized milk colour to clear, or serve on the rocks," but I still have questions before I try it, because I don't want to waste any just because I did it wrong.
