HEB had pork brisket strips on sale for $1.29 a lb.(bone in) I got a nice package for $5.47. It had 3 of them in it and I picked through the entire display to make sure I got the best one. I slow smoked them out on the pit for 3 hours with mesquite and charcoal. Salt to taste and garlic powder are all you need for these. These things kick ass if slow smoked. They are real tender.
Who else is bbqing tonight and what are you making ?

on the grill, marinated in lots of garlic and Chinese BBQ sauce. Some fresh corn, roasted garlic potatoes and vidalia onions, tossed spring greens with Gorgonzola cheese, olive oil and Balsamic vinegar. I can't wait until my husband finishes outside with the meat!!

But we're having quite a feast.
Big Pot Roast with onions, potatoes, carrotts, and green peppers. Corn on the Cob and Apple Crisp with ice cream to top it off.
Plus, a Football game on the tube.
Wheee!

12. "I got a nice package" |
|
I just love it when people say they got a "nice" this or a "nice" that when talking about food purchases. In fact - I got two really nice eggplants the other day. They're in the oven and I wish I'd put them on the bbq so I could post to your thread!
Enjoy your brisket - it sounds delish!

13. Did some nice New York Strips tonight. |
|
Pan-Seared with Omaha Steaks garlic and roasted peppercorn dry rub and a bit of olive oil for a minute each side and then grilled for three minutes a side. Baked potatoes, steamed broccoli and salad on the side. Excellent.
