OFFICE workers are turning in to "cyber slackers", spending their working days forwarding sexually explicit e-mails or looking up porn.
A survey of company computer technicians found the 9-to-5 misuse of the internet had increased dramatically in recent years.
Recruitment firm Talent2 said three quarters of surveyed technicians, who keep companies on-line, reported porn sites and sex messages were cutting productivity.
"Wasting time and slacking off at work is not a new phenomenon," Talent2's Craig Sneesby said. "However, the internet has provided a subtle way of 'cyber' slacking."
More than 54 per cent of employees surveyed said they had been caught in the act of using work computers to surf non-work related websites. Thirty-one per cent said sexually explicit websites and forwarding inappropriate e-mails were the most popular time wasters.
