3. The question is flawed,
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 01:10 PM by lib4life
because the idea of a burrito being too hot for Jesus to eat is an impossibility, because He is all powerful. He could eat a ball of pure lava if he wanted to. Wait, I took that too seriously, didn't I?

10. If Jesus Cannot Make a Burrito So Hot He Cannot Eat It
Then He is not all-powerful, since nothing should be impossible for Him.

9. Yes, because Jesus was "only human".
He may have been part of the Holy Trinity, but Jesus suffered as all humans suffer. Now God, that's a different story. He's an Almighty Fella, there ain't nothing he couldn't eat, no matter how hot!

15. I believe I am correct that burritos weren't invented until the 16th
century by a Spanish priest in Old Mexico. So no, Jesus could not have done that. (Not to mention that he didn't have an adapter to allow a U.S. microwave to fit an Israeli electrical outlet).

17. Begging the question - you presume limitations on omnipotence
The question, "Could Jesus microwave a burrito so hot that He Himself could not eat it" (and its relative, "Could God create a boulder so large that He Himself could not lift it") presume that there is a finite limit on the capacity of an omnipotent being to do something. By definition, this finite limit does not exist.

So the question is a logical fallacy.

18. Of course he could.
But he'd have to want to burn his own mouth.

Since he's omnipotent and can work miracles, even if his body is infinitely protected from heat, he could miraculously lower his heat resistance or change the meaning of infinity so that the burrito could be 'infinity plus one' degrees hot.

However, beyond say 1000 degrees fahrenheit, the burrito would probably spontaneously combust and therefore he wouldn't be eating a burrito, per se, but the flaming ashes of a former burrito. Then again, I suppose Jesus could miraculously alter the properties of the burrito so that rather than explode into flames it would remain simply an enormously hot burrito.

I think however that if you are going to perform miracles, you probably shouldn't waste time seeing if you can miraculously burn yourself. Just MHO.
