Spot the agent provocateur at the RNC protests! |
|
How will they dress?
What will the dead giveaways be?
This is for fun, but it could prove valuable. Ya never know.

I think that's exactly what I was trying to get at in reply #4. "An indefinable aura of lameness".
Oh, another sign: Wearing a nice watch with ratty clothing. A hobo with a Rolodex, for example.

Black oxfords and white socks!
...back "in-the-day" undercover cops used to patrol the beaches at Daytona during Spring Break....always wore loud surfing trunks, hawiian print shirts, BIG sunglasses....and, of course, the obligatory black service oxfords and white socks.....always came up to a group of kids partying and asking if they had any pot.....
which brings up the obvious point...look out for anybody trying to openly score any kind of illegal substance; talks "hip" inappropriately, uses terminology that freepers THINK liberals use, or try to incite vandalism of any kind.

4. You can't rely on the shiny black shoes anymore |
|
...they caught onto that one.
When I used to spend some time photographing undercover agents at NORML gatherings, I noticed that the one common thing (other than their behavior) was the odd sense that they'd just picked up all their clothes at a second hand store on their way to the gathering.
Can't really put my finger on it, since lots of people wear second hand clothes, myself included. But there was the strange sense that the clothes they were wearing weren't their own. Or maybe I'm just psychic, and was interpreting the sensation as their clothing. "Narcdar"
The main thing is to watch for those who make dangerous suggestions for others to carry out. Watch out for eager beavers, I guess. Beware of small groups of individuals who may split up, then gather occasionally, then split up again, and so on.
Another dead giveaway is seeing people 'behind the lines' with the police, and then seeing them out trying to rile up trouble, but that's an obvious one.
If you see someone committing a crime, take note of them -- photograph them if possible.

especially about the "second-hand clothing".
You're absolutely right...it's just "something" that says they don't feel comfortable in those clothes.

7. As soon as they start in... |
|
...form a circle, point, and denounce them for the shit-disturbers they are --- just to make sure the cops arrest the right ones (they'll thank you for it later).
It wouldn't hurt to carry a few pro-cop signs, either.

9. We've actually discussed this at length |
|
No doubt they will be rather loony looking fellows , I don't know if they will include any women , and be deep cover RNC types- you know, "private security firm" FBI washout/wannabes. I work a lot in Downtown LA and these clowns are everywhere.
They would LOVE a spy mission, especially where they could see some "action"
I imagine many will have buzzcuts or cleanheads.
There may be some deep cover guys who are FBI that have long hair though, there always have been.

13. If you spot one, befriend them and stick to them like glue |
|
Watch everything they do, photograph them, drop your film / memory stick off in a pre-addressed, pre-stamped envelope addressed to someone who will get it quickly and will know what to do with it.
