Talk me out of ordering a product from an info-mercial. |

I am seriously considering ordering that Scuunci steamer. It's a household cleaner that cleans with steam. I like the idea of cleaning without chemicals. It looks like it just turns grime into liquid and you wipe away. Ooooooh. Clean shower grout.
Am I nuts?

4. It slices! It dices! It juliennes! |

Actually -- most mail-order steam cleaners don't actually get hot enough to kill anything, so don't use it anywhere you'd normally use a disinfectant.
It's good for removing dirt, though.

if it's a good product. But once I ordered something like that from a commercial and ended up being bombarded with telemarketing calls from that company.

turn off your tv. go outside. go to a hardware store and see what they suggest in a similar product. Its bound to be better and last longer.

Most of those things end up on the shelves at K-Mart or Target a few months after they've been in an infomercial blitz--for about 1/3 the price.

I love my steamer but I would recommend you get a larger one with an attachment that cleans floors. My kitchen floors have never been cleaner since I've used mine. They may not be strong enough to get rid of all bacteria but I have to tell you they are great for getting out dirt. You will be amazed what you are able to steam up around your kitchen and bathroom faucets. Do some research and get a bigger floor model. They don't cost that much more. I think I got mine a few years ago from Smart Bargains.
The only problem I have found with this particular piece of cleaning equipment is that you won't feel you get things really clean unless you use it.
I am really not a clean freak-but I love these things.

I wanted one of those Scuunci things when I saw the commercial... now I know I should look for the one you got. I hate using chemical cleaners if I don't have to.

I have to tell you I don't recall if mine is called Steam Buggy or Steam Mouse. It doesn't have a name on it. The one thing I regret about mine is the floor attachment. When you buy it make sure the attachment has a mechanism like a swifter so you can attach your own towels. Mine uses one that fits on like a big sock and It drives me crazy because I misplace it all the time and can't use anything else to substitute for it. I believe the new models have this feature. I'm getting ready to buy a new one for myself. Mine is about 3 years old and I've used it faithfully about 3-4 times a week. Could you leave me a message and let me know which one you decided on. I might go ahead and get one too.

12. Haha. Dr Greg Cynaumon. PhD doctor. Not MD. |

I thought that was pretty amusing. He probably has a PhD in marketing or some crap degree from Bob Jones.

I'll research these steam cleaners before I buy one. It's good to know that some of them actually work.
