Anyone in the southwestern Kansas City metro area noticing the green sky?
We do have warnings up, & I just noticed the greenish sunset. The clouds are looking a little menacing.:scared:

1. Oh man, looks like trouble...
Up in these parts we call it "diarrhea sky". Means there's some big shit about to go down.

2. Passed through here
a while ago, lots of hail. I was sitting in my truck, mostly it was marble size but I got hit with a few that were ping pong ball size. Good luck, we missed the worst of it.

3. Thanks,
I'm keeping an eye out. There's a lot of interesting clouds out right now.

8. Where are you in KS? I just talked to my Mom in Overland Park, she
said it was almost yellow.

9. Overland Park, and, yes, the sky is turning yellow.
I'm sticking close to the basement!

4. It does look like something bad could happen.
I just hope the sirens don't go off again...

6. Gawd I miss KC weather
My parents just told me they had almost half of their electronics fried from the last KC storm.

7. It was quite a show,
I'm always in awe of these midwest storms.

11. Kansas storms are one of
the main reasons I can't leave here. I love being able to watch them build and come in. It seems crazy but it is just so very awesome. The last few years have been pretty pitiful stormwise but this year has been a banger for certain. I am a happy storm watcher.

14. I've only lived here for the past 7 years,
but the sky is so interesting. I've taken pictures, but they just don't show how magnificent the cloud formations really are. And the sunsets are usually to die for. I, too, am a happy storm watcher.

12. Hey, thanks for the info!
I always wondered where the sickly color comes from. But, right now, with the sun setting, it's a hellish orangy-green.
