My friends son was hurt badly in Iraq
This is the letter I got from her:

Len and I got word this morning early that our son was leading an
attack in Najaraf iwth th e11th MEU this morning and was hit by a land
missle grenade ? HE was hit on his left side and sustained damage called
severe. He was given a trachatomony due to the extensixe damage to his face
and skull caused swelling to close his throat. He is on his way to Bethesda
or San Diego hospital as I type. ONe of us will fly out in the comming days
to be with him wherever he is at. IT will probly be Len as I think that
would be best for him right now.
Lenard Jr. has the left side of his face gone, 2 broken hips, 1 broken
leg, skull fracture to the left side, and many other things and we are not
sure what all at this time but will let you know.
Please keep him in your prayers as he will need a long list of
surgeries and rehab to be able to live a somewhat normal life again if there
is such a thing aas that after these type of traumas. But I guess Creator
works in strange ways as I feel lucky in some ways he is alive and he is
coming home again unlike so many other kids over there who did not make it
home. IT is sad to think of but that is the price for the Iraqui freedom wwe
seemd to have to pay ? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I will say no more on that right
now.

Keep her in your thoughts if you would, please.

5. What a horrible thing to have to go through for this young man.
You have to be as supportive as you possibly can, but, damn, this is a hard one.

6. You don't know how badly this hurts
I was a nurse in Vietnam and hoped we'd never do this again. I'm quite sure the Navy has a place where your friend can stay while he is with his son. You should try and go to. He will need you.

10. This poor soul didn't belong in Najaraf
He was supposed to be at home doing something useful. Instead he was sent there to kill people for oil and empire.

11. I Don't Even Know What To Say
sometimes we think so much about the dead that we forget about the wounded. Or we hear wounded and don't grasp the severity of the injury.

I want to cry for this young man. Your friend should not be alone if her husband flies out to be with the son. Even if she says she wants to be alone some one should just sit in another room in the house and read or do something quiet.
