Vincent Gallo on Howard Stern this morning... |
|
Yes, Gallo is a repub. And that annoys me. But man, for some reason I find the dude hysterical. He's so completely out there and seems to have no filter in his brain before he speaks. He was one of the best celebrity guests I've heard on there in a while. Particularly when Roger Ebert called in (who Gallo had wished cancer on after he gave his latest movie a scathing review at Cannes).
Plus, Buffalo 66 is still one of my favorite movies so no matter how repub I can't hate on the guy too much.

2. I haven't seen it (I didn't think it was released yet).... |
|
But I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to, despite all the horrid reviews. I'm a glutton for punishingly self indulgent movies(ie. Cassavettes, Von Trier, etc.).

7. The funniest thing in regards to Brown Bunny is when |
|
Gallo told Ebert he was a a fat bastard (or something like that) and Ebert said I can change my weight, but you'll always be the guy who made the Brown Bunny!

9. Speaking of fellatio... |
|
...isn't this the movie where Chloe Sevigny blows Gallo at the end? Isn't Chloe a Repub also? That's three reasons right there for me not to go see this. Two Repubs plus one oral sex scene between two Repubs. Three very nasty strikes.

12. Yes, and Gallo spent $30K to put the scene on a billboard |
|
on Sunset strip. Take that, Paris Hilton.

6. Why can't people disconnect personality from talent |
|
Just because someone can produce something that alot of people like doesn't mean that he isn't a horrible human being. I listened to the interview and and really didn't find anything redeeming about him except for the fact that he could sound at times somewhat affable. He's clearly disturbed though. He regurgitates the innane Coulter-esqe notion that liberals are elitists who look down on the poor and downtrodden, and then smears all people from Buffalo as basically worthless scum. He's a typical person who secretly wishes he could be "respectable" in the country club sense of the word so does everything he can to spew out the worst aspects of those type of people.

8. I never said he wasn't a horrible human being.... |
|
I just said he made me laugh. It was amusing listening to him.
Of course I got out of the car before the political talk started so that made it easier.

11. He's the kind of Republican who scares other repubs |
|
so we should be grateful to him and egg him on in his nuttiness. Every time he gets up there, says something crazy and follows it up with "And I'm a big fat Republican!" we ought to cheer. Get him and the Nuge up on the RNC stage and let them go!
Buffalo '66 is still a good movie, and I'm keeping an open mind about The Brown Bunny.
