Can I talk about how much I love Kerry and Edwards?

I heart them. I lovelovelovelovelove them. I'm serious, I want to take them both, fold them up, put them in my pocket, take them home and keep them forever.

I don't love them romantically. I love them platonically. Despite the fact that he is WAY too young, Kerry feels grandfatherly to me (he is actually my dad's age). He's soooo smart and wonderful. Everytime he speaks, I just grin from ear to ear. It's so nice to hear someone speak in complete sentences and pronounce all his words correctly and actually knows what he's talking about.

When I think about Kerry and Edwards in the White House, my heart fills with pride. An INTELLIGENT president and a KIND vice-president? What the hell will that be like?

I'll tell you: absolutely wonderful.

I heard all my life how much adults loved Kennedy--how much they just adored him and loved him being president. Well, I can understand that feeling now. I liked Clinton a LOT and still do, but this is different somehow. I feel like Kerry is a grown mature adult and bush is just a little kid on a tricycle with a couple of cap guns screaming "bang! bang! be afraid!"

I heart Kerry and Edwards. They aren't even nearly liberal enough for me, but I still love them both. And if they were standing in front of me, I'd thank them both for doing what they are doing. (Then I'd probably try to lick Edwards but that wouldn't go over too well with the Secret Service, I bet.)

All around me, I talk to people who like and admire Kerry more and more every day, including my husband, the last Bitter Dean Hanger-On, who is now totally on board with Kerry (thanks smear guys! Your shameful smears on another vet convinced my vet husband Kerry is a great guy!!!).

Anyway, I'm just sayin'.
