1. Oh, I think the best was actually the seldom-seen John Waters short

"The Diane Linkletter Story."

Saw it at the Biograph Theatre in Georgetown in days gone so long gone by one barely remembers 'em.

Divine, David Lochary, and, oh I forgot who played Mrs. Art Linkletter. Mary Vivian Pierce?

But really, the best truly was "Female Trouble". I was just trying to high-hand you. Foolish me.

2. Tough choice, since they were all great.
I went with Hairspray because Divine played both genders and did a great job. How many actors can say that?

Divine's death was a crushing blow. What a talent.

3. OK, I'm giving away my age here, but....
I saw (within a couple of years of its release) "Pink Flamingos" at a midnight movie with a boyfriend. I decided he was cool because he liked it.

Back in the day (living in San Francisco), I saw Divine in her bathrobe going into a corner drugstore at 24th and Castro. I was thrilled!

AND...I am the proud owner of an (uncooked) egg autographed by Edith Massey (you know, "Edie, the Egg Lady) that she signed for me when she appeared at a resort to promote her single, "Hey Punks! Get Off the Grass!" And her very gracious pianist, last name:"Leatherman," autographed a cocktail napkin.

There was something very genuine about Divine. And Edie was very nice and seemed to appreciate the positive attention she was receiving.
