I've been avoiding the RNC like the plague. I'll watch the reports and clips later, but I'm avoiding the live stuff.
However, I accidentally heard a second of it live last night, around 9:20 CST. I turned on the bedroom tv, and it was on CBS. The sound comes on before the picture, so I change it right away - and I hear "after September 11th."
How odd - a random moment, accidentally tuned in, and it just HAPPENED to mention 9/11. Is anyone totalling up how many times that is being invoked?

had a montage of Giuliani and him saying 9/11. You know, it doesn't bother me that they mention september 11. Or mention it a million times. Its that the speeches leave out words like "success", "plan", and "victory". I don't know if Bush thinks that 9/11 changed a thing except that the country rallied around him and he enjoyed that a good deal, and would like to repeat it.
And on cue, Zell says that opposing Bush is helping terrorists. What a dick.

2. The NYT had a front page graph... |

showing that, over the first 2 days of each convention, the R's mentioned 9/11 a total of 26 times, vs. the Dems 14 times.
Cool graph, with circles proportionate to the number. We mentioned Bush 9 times, they mentioned Kerry 33 times.
Biggest circle? Ours, on jobs, 74 times. Them on jobs? 14 times.
