Their Maya Complete, a bit limited, watermarked images, etc. Still a lot of fun to play with. Fairly easy to learn and use, especially if you create your own menus (which you can).

Maya is one of the industry standard 3D animation applications. Others include 3D Studio Max and Lightwave.

(I want to go to school for this. At almost 30, though... it's bloody hard to start a new career from scratch.)
