Good one.
I make up my own recipes for the most part. But I use the Joy of Cooking and the Fanny Farmer Cookbook as references. And then, anything by Julia Child is good. (sniff, miss you, Julia!)

I was going to post about that when I saw the subject. It's excellent and has many basic tips for beginning cooks.

9. Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker |
|
I've absolutely fallen in love with Robin Robertson's Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker over the last year. The recipes are wonderful, and there's a range of difficulties and preparation times represented.
