I love it here

Of course, love can be difficult, and there are certainly times where it was trying for me to hang in there, and not always be entirely successful at keeping my passions in check, and pissing off 1 or 2 people for every 3 or 4 I embraced. But love prevails, and although I could have done it better, I am me, flaws and good parts. I won't belabor the past. That said, no one is to blame for my shortcomings but my own damn self.

But when I think of the good that has come from this place, the love, the friendships, the family bonds... when I think of what this place has done to enrich my life personally, to motivate me to get off my ass, write, protest, persuade, educate, and enlighten others to the great challenge of removing Bush from our White House - it is all worth it in the end.

So even as I am an unruly bastard at times, and have done far more than my share to inflame the administrators and moderators of this site, as well as more than a handful of DUers, I thank one and all, friend or adversary, for being on the right side of history, even if we get on the wrong side of each other sometimes.

3. I love it here, too..

It pisses me off sometimes, but I'm a big enough boy and have thick enough skin to handle it. And the comraderie and dicussions are more than worth the occaisional bile.

I realize there are some here who come here to post and can't handle the rancor sometimes; fine. There are other places to post. But I'll take this place everytime.

Now, anybody got any beer? And i mean the good stuff; Molson Canadian or Mickey's Malt Liquor!

5. I lurked here for a long time

before registering, and I am profoundly impressed with the intelligence and erudition of DUers. It is obvious that people here truly care for one another, despite the petty squabbles and bickering which inevitably occur when important issues are at stake. Thank you, DU, for being a part of my political awakening and motivating me to 'git offa mah bee-hind' and work to make America a better country in whatever way possible. :toast:
