I just picked up the new Mark Lanegan CD (which is fantastic, by the way), and there's a couple songs on the disc that feature Polly Jean Harvey. I've never been a huge fan of hers in the past, but now I find her intriguing. Can anyone here recommend a good CD by her? ANy I should avoid?

I'm crawling out of a 2-year popular culture funk. I've always been a fan of stoner/desert rock, whatever convenient label you want to put on it, so I'm glad I've been finding some decent stuff lately.

The first PJ Harvey CD I bought was 'Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea'. I highly recommend it.

5. Definitely start with 'To Bring You My Love' |
|
That's the safest one, and her most consistent.
Rid of Me might be a bit much for starters.

Good choice... ROM is my favorite, so... but you're right on the money... much more accessible stuff on TBYML.
And now that's playing on my mental jukebox... thanks!
