4 days! My C-Section is scheduled for Monday morning. (And my last day of work is Sunday.)
Last night I put batteries in all the baby things. And Cliff brought home fire extinguishers and a carbon monoxide detector. We're bring home the bassinet tonight. And my hospital bags are all packed.
Still, it's hard for me to imagine actually having a baby. I'm so used to him being on the inside. I'm going to be massively blown away when I can hold him.
But my ribs and hip will sure be relieved. I seriously can hardly walk.
Cliff heard me come in the front door to our apartment last night. And by the time I got up the 2 flights of stairs, he'd forgotten I'd come home. It took like 20 minutes!
But I AM still walking and I AM still working. No bed-rest for me. I am not the bed-rest type.
Thanks so much for asking.

6. Oh trust me, bed rest sucks out loud! |

I had pregnancy induced hypertension with my first. It's amazing how fast the urge to get up and MOVE sets in!
And so glad to hear you're so prepared ... my first came early and we were scrambling! It's so wonderful that you're still very active... it should make your recovery period go by that much faster. With my second I was going on extra-loooong daily walks with my dog just to try to encourage her to get OUT already... lol.
Is it strange that I'm so excited for you? Babies are just such a joy... I'm so happy for both of you... you cannot possibly imagine what's in store!
Take care!

8. I think it's wonderful to be able to share this with you... |
|
...and my friends at DU. I'm a very lucky person.
I wish I could go for longer walks, but I do a lot of stretches, and swimming is great!
I think I'll recover quickly after I unload most of this weight. I want to be able to run and jump on a trampoline. Those are my goals for the next year.

11. Your last day of work is Sunday? |
|
Dear God, are they making you report back to work on Wednesday, or something? Talk about working right up till the last minute! Your company has sure gotten their money's worth from you! :)
Take care. Good wishes to you and the hub, and of course the soon-to-be-brand-new one!

12. Because I won't be returning to that job... |
|
...I need to work up to the 12th for them to pay for my September insurance.
After my maternity leave I start a new position with another non-profit.
But yeah, I'm cutting it pretty close.
:)
