1. Gotta go with "Dr. Strangelove" -- vintage Sellers.
Edited on Fri Sep-05-03 05:30 PM by rezmutt
As I understand it, in addition to the title character, and Merkin Muffley, and Lionel Mandrake, Sellers was slated to play Major Kong (Slim Picken's classic role). But Sellers managed to injure his foot in the bomber-interior set, so that was that.

On edit: Can't forget Sellers in "Lolita." His Quilty is Humbert's worst nightmare. Classic!

one of the funniest movies ever made.

14. YES!
I almost peed myself when he almost peed himself. So did my brother in law. My sister was too dignified (dignified, s-t-u-c-k-u-p, dignified) to laugh at that movie.

7. The Mouse That Roared!!!
My absolute favorite. It was a lot like Dr Strangelove in many ways. The Grand Dutchess role was great. Imagine a country taking on the US! :)

9. Staring...
Peter Sellers as the Grand Dutchess, Peter Sellers as the Minister of ---?, and Peter Sellers as wonderful and mild mannered Tully.

10. Strangelove was the best, but..
The Party and The Magic Christian should have been on the list too.

and he nearly wet his pants gut-laughing at many of the scenes. Now that's comedy!

18. I Love You, Alice B. Toklas
I laughed my ass off.

I still had to go with Dr. Strangelove, though. That movie is a classic. Sellers was a freaking genius.

First runner-up would have to be Being There. A well-dressed dimwit without a clue about surviving in the real world is elected President by a collection of special interests? Nah! Some sort of fantasy!

More like some sort of nightmare. Wake me up.
