Help! I can't listen to Air America anymore with WMP!!!
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. In the Open URL dialog, try opening the file using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:").

I keep getting this error message when I attempt to connect, where it otherwise was working yesterday! WHAT HAPPENED? One minute I can connect fine, the next this error pops up!

4. we won't use Real Player either. It is like computer cancer. Try
Real Alternative. works great without the agressive behavior of Real Player

3. happens to me a lot also
using WMP v9 on Windows 98SE with a dial up and it is just unreliable. I tried changing all the settings, went back to default settings several times in an attempt to make it better. Still I get error messages and also crashes. I also removed and reinstalled WMP several times--it is really bad for my computer.

I have found that using Real Player works much better than WMP for me and so use that intead of WMP-- exclusively when tuning into the AAR stream-even when I download from the whiterosesociety URL I use Real Player and have no problems at all--

5. have you tried rebooting?
or make sure your WMP is up to date, or uninstall and reinstall WMP.
Real Player is a bastard.
or system restore.
