I don't know how long this will last, honestly. I used to think she was very smart, but now I don't know. She's something of a feminist, she's pro-choice, has a 15 y/o nephew and is anti-war, but for some reason, she is voting for the shrub. Her parents are kool-aid drenched repugs, and I think she believes that the RW has a moral monopoly or something. I don't know why she votes that way, and she cannot defend her vote. She just doesn't even want to discuss it, either--I think she's probably not intellectual enough (despite her law degree) to deal with it.

I really believe that most freepers suffer from either:

1) A ready lack of intellectual ability
2) A belief (however unfounded) that Republicans are somehow more moral than Dems
3) A hatred of minorities.

Chances are, sometime before NOV., I hand her walking papers.

The only problem is, she's beautiful, and she seems to love me.

but most students think they already have it, and they don't. The vast majority of this country has no critical thinking skills, either, and just like her--they think their minds are as sharp as scalpels.

It's sad to see someone so smart being unable to think for herself. It really lowers my opinion of her. We can't even talk politics, which to me is reason enough to dump her. I guess I'm waiting to see what develops. If she comes around, fine. If not, I'm starting to think she may be too stupid to marry--There is no fucking way any child of mine will grow up Republican. To answer the question -- would I date a freeper? Not knowingly. Not that I'm looking to actually date or anything...but if I was, I'd really have no way of knowing that certain people aren't freepers until I got to know them (blind dates, Internet match, meeting someone at the laundromat, that sort of thing). I'd probably have go to on a date before I'd figure that out; hence, I might end up inadvertantly dating a freeper.

I can't imagine I'd have much in common with someone whose politics disgust me, though, so it probably wouldn't last much beyond that date.
