MELBOURNE, Australia -- A man climbed into a lions' enclosure at an Australian zoo Tuesday, pulled out a yellow Bible and asked stunned onlookers whether they wanted him to pat the four animals during feeding time.

Staff later coaxed him out of the den unhurt.

Australian television showed amateur video footage of the drama at Melbourne Zoo.
