hey.. buckeye fan. every time you run your mouth.. |
|
I'm gonna post this score:
Ohio St. - 16 SDSU - 13
I was at the spAztec's game last week, and they struggled against Eastern Washington.. they looked like krap. While your team is scheduling down, and playing teams like San Diego State to pad their ranking, the Trojan's are playing and winning real football games against legitimate teams. National Champs my arse!

The thing you'll learn about my Buckeye's is that we arn't Florida State we don't schedule down. Yeah we played bad against SDSU but, that happens.

That's what they all said last year, too. Then the Big Ten went 5-2 in Bowl games in the process of winning the National Championship. And the conference looks to be better, top to bottom, then last year.
On edit: My bad. I thought you were responding to sasquatch. Please except my apologies. I completely missed your point. I agree with what you said about the ACC. Sorry for the above message.

I thought you were responding to sasquatch. My bad.
About Minnesota: I believe that Minnesota is a team to beat in the Big Ten this year. They have a great schedule, not playing Ohio State and Purdue. Also, they have Michigan and Wisconsin at home in that terrible dome with the plastic "grass." Combine that with their amazingly weak nonconference schedule, and they should win nine games this year. If not, look for a coaching change.

That is the only reason they're there. I'm not surprised when North Carolina loses to Miami of Ohio and Miami goes 11-1 and doesn't get into a bowl game. Yet NC goes 6-5 and gets into a bowl game.

I am not surprised when Baylor looses to any team, but that doesn't downplay the entire conference. But you forget about teams such as South Carolina, NC State is a good team, Florida State who won a championship some years back, Virginia and others.

I got confused with Maryland, don't ask me how. But don't overlook the NIU game, NIU has talented players and Maryland played a bad game, much like OSU today. Maryland is a very good team so is Viginia, Florida State, North Carolina State, and every know and then Clemson has a great season. ACC is very a good conference.

Just because I don't like any teams from the ACC doesn't mean I can't give any of the teams the praise they deserve. I think the Big 12 is the most talented and toughest conference to win, but I don't like the Big 12 or any of the teams except Texas Tech.

he is correct, it is the other team's job to stop your offense, not yours. Of course I wouldn't do it with my first stringers, I would do it with my second and third stringers.

36. You can't tell your third stringers not to play hard. |
|
In that sense, I agree with you. But you can alter your offensive attack and quit throwing the ball so much in a blowout. FSU typically doesn't do that, though. When the game is a blowout, most coaches keep the ball on the ground to run out the clock when the third stringers are in there. Many of them go for the first down on fourth down when they are in FG position to avoid adding points and to give the other team every opportunity to stop them.
Bowden's not known for doing any of those things.

My point is if I were a head coach I would hijack the opportunity to give my other players some gametime experience and get better. You don't want just your superstars to get better, you want your entire team to get better so you can add depth.

We had some close ones last year, too. And went undefeated. And won the National Championship.
So I hope you post a winning Ohio State score every week.
And something about "running our mouths:" Personally, I only respond to Ohio State haters after they run their mouths. Kinda like this thread.
I do start pro-Ohio State threads on occasion, but I don't call out the fans of other teams. Hell, I was under the impression that was against the rules here at DU.

45. Here we go again with the my conference is better than your conference! |
|
I watch more of these games than all of you guys, I guarantee that, between my satellite package and going to Vegas once and a while to bet and watch in the sportsbook.
The ACC is better than the Big Ten people are giving it credit for. When things shake out at the end of the year, this will bear out. Keep in mind three ACC teams have been without star players already this year. Maryland didn't have Bruce Perry last week, NC State sorely missed TA McClendon today, and Virginia is nothing without QB Matt Schaub, who was conference player of the year last year. It's not the Big XII, Big Ten, or SEC this year, but that doesn't mean the league sucks. Also, for those harping on Maryland losing to No. Illinois:
Bowling Green 27, Purdue 26. At Purdue, I might add. So let's cut the crap with who's losing to MAC schools.
The Big Ten is loaded up this year. Michigan and OSU are title contenders, Wisconsin could go 10-2, 11-1, and I agree Minnesota is good this year. Downside: Penn State looked dreadful today.
Just take a step back and evaluate it objectively. Take it team by team. Saying a team sucks just for the league they play in is lunacy.

Good luck tonight, Sun Devil. My Bruins played a darn good game today up in Colorado, just came up short. If Olson improves at QB, we are going to be tough in conference play.

well the first half, I was wondering if the QB that got injured in the first half played in the second half? Also it was a good game and Colorado has a great team so don't feel too bad about that loss. I also knew the wide reciever Jeremy Bloom(#15) at one point, he played on my cousin's baseball team at a high school in Loveland, Colorado. But his sport his skiing.

I think they're gonna stick with Olson next week. He played pretty well, just needs some work. This TE we got, Marcedes Lewis, is the real deal. We've got weapons with him, Taylor, Bloom, and Ebell, just need the QB to step up. As I said, I LOVE the defense. Great back seven.
