HOLLYWOOD celebrities swear by it, and now pet owners are being told their overweight cat or dog could benefit from the low-carb diet of the stars.
An Australian vet today said the Atkins diet, a favourite of J.Lo and other Hollywood A-listers, could work wonders for podgy canines and felines.
Dr Ian Billinghurst believes modern high-carbohydrate, high-sugar diets are not only bad for humans but are leading to an increase in obesity and related diseases in our pets.
Dr Billinghurst has delivered lectures all over the world in support of what he calls an Atkins-style "evolutionary diet" for pets.
